UNIT-e Tools for Excel offers enhancements to and furthers the current Microsoft Office integration, allowing the power of Microsoft Excel’s calculation, analysis and editing capabilities to be unleashed on your data.
Users can design and distribute Excel workbooks linking into XML feeds designed in a customised version of UNIT-e XML Exporter .
UNIT-e Tools for Excel and Microsoft Excel are loosely coupled, therefore users have the ability to edit the data offline or even on machines that do not have UNIT-e Tools installed. For the first time edited changes can then be passed backed into UNIT-e via update reports either directly from Excel or as part of a workflow using SharePoint 2007 and UNIT-e Workflow *.
Using Microsoft’s new Open XML formats * hundreds of near identical copies of the same spreadsheet can be exported with specific data changes per user. With SharePoint and Workflow * these can be mailed out to each user for review.
When users have completed collecting and editing data, Excel is also an outstanding reporting tool. With completed data, UNIT-e Tools for Excel automates the production of Excel spreadsheets for inclusion in SharePoint - ideal for status reports and measuring progress again key performance indicators.
