The new release of Capita Payment Management software (version 7.3) has received an official pass from the PCI Security Standards Council as regards the Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS). This was first achieved in 2009 for version 7.2 of the software for those applications that are customer-hosted and used to take card payments in conjunction with our secure bureau service.
The initial validation related to Counter Receipting, Income Management, Paye.net and Chip & PIN, but is now extended to include Smart Gateway and support for kiosk integration, with our first kiosk payments solution going live in December 2010.
Managed by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC), PA-DSS is designed to provide the definitive data security standard for software vendors developing payment applications and includes measures such as ensuring that secure data such as PIN, Card Security Code or magnetic stripe data is not stored. From 1st July 2010, the card industry has required organisations that take card payments to use PA-DSS certified applications for the processing of cardholder data.
Capita solutions remain at the forefront of card security and the company continues to invest in order to ensure its products remain compliant with the latest in security standards.
